The Yirrganydji Land and Sea Program currently operates on the Great Barrier Reef coast between Cairns and Port Douglas in North Queensland, Australia. Through the program, Yirrganydji Rangers have been involved in a range of stewardship, education and research activities on sea country and working in partnerships with different agencies, organisations and community.
Some activities include monitoring and restoration of coral, monitoring of coastal ecosystems and wildlife such as coastal birds and mangroves, removal of rubbish and marine debris, and education and engagement activities. We hope to share our work at this year's AMSA Conference.
