Ocius’ Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) called Bluebottles are named after the Australian marine animal that lives at sea and uses its body as a sail.
They are autonomous robots, powered by three forms of renewable energy; the sun, wind and waves, that can navigate the seas for long periods and cover vast areas. They are intelligent and approved by Australian Maritime Safety Authority for operating in Australia’s EEZ to conduct unescorted long-duration missions including gathering oceanographic and bathymetric data.
Ocius has focused from the beginning on delivering a unique platform tested in the toughest conditions that requires least logistic support, needing a boat ramp on site while delivering speed of advance in all conditions and currents carrying a 300kg payload and powering that payload with 150W average 24 hours per day with just 8 hours sun/day.
Ocius will present at the conference unclassified results of recent trials and LIVE data from Bluebottles operating ex Cairns.
