Mildred Kelokelo
Mildred Kelokelo is a Phd student at the University of Newcastle in marine science. She graduated from the University of Guam with a research master’s degree focused on understanding the sexual reproductive cycle of the arc-eye hawkfish, Paracirrhites arcatus. Her PhD research investigates the current coral restoration efforts in the tropical Pacific region to understand their efficiency and explore avenues to tailor them to current and future coral restoration projects. She also uses historical sea surface temperature data to evaluate coral bleaching and heat stress in coral reefs. Lastly, a part of her research investigates the social aspects of coral restoration projects to understand the human-coral reef relationships in coastal communities.
