Alexandra Gulizia
I am a chemistry PhD candidate at James Cook University and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), Townsville. Using my chemistry background, I investigate the reactivity of microplastics in different conditions, e.g., during chemical digestion procedures, as well as understanding the reactivity of plastics and their additives in different environments. These results are then fed back to my marine science research colleagues to assist in developing appropriate protocols and methodologies.
