Megan J Huggett
Dr Megan Huggett is a Senior Lecturer in Marine Science at the University of Newcastle. Previously, Megan was a postdoctoral researcher at Edith Cowan University in Perth and at the University of Hawaii’s Institute of Marine Biology. She obtained her PhD from the University of New South Wales and is interested particularly in understanding the ocean’s tiniest living inhabitants – the microorganisms that underpin the biogeochemical cycles of this planet and facilitate the health and wellbeing of the larger organisms that they inhabit. Megan’s goal is to deliver useful, original outcomes for the health of marine ecosystems both nationally and globally, via research and through training the next generation of marine scientists.
