Paula J Cartwright
Paula has recently completed her PhD at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre at The University of Western Australia. Paula’s multi-disciplinary PhD research combined multiple technologies including satellite imagery, remotely operated video (ROV) and modelling to quantify the contribution of large-scale oceanic processes, such as ENSO, to marine habitat functioning and the potential impact of climate change in the ecologically significant Exmouth Gulf region. Her ‘big picture’ is communicating these outcomes to managers and decision makers for the benefit of our marine resources. Previously she conducted research in Coral Bay (WA) and Sarawak, Borneo. Prior to completing degrees in Marine Science, Paula was a naturopath and journalist on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. She has been contributing to AMSA as eNews editor since 2018.
