Mohammad Main Uddin
Main Uddin has been doing his PhD research since 2019 at the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Queensland, Australia. Main has a BSc Honours and MSc in Forestry from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh and an MSc degree in Sustainable Environmental Management from the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), University of Greenwich, UK. In addition to his current PhD research, Main has been serving as a faculty member at the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh since 2012. His current PhD research focuses on the ecological succession of mangrove plantations in the Bangladesh Delta. Main is working to assess ecological succession in the planted mangroves across a 40-year chronosequence. Main's research also focuses on assessing how the plantation mangroves contribute to blue carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation to support Bangladesh’s commitment to the Paris Agreement described in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
