Jane E Williamson
I am a marine ecologist and fisheries biologist at Macquarie University in Sydney, where I run the Marine Ecology Group (MEG). The focus of MEG is diverse and pivots around assessing the healthy functioning and biodiversity of aquatic communities, particularly those with threatened species, and understanding the human-induced challenges they face. Much of our research is on top predators, such as marlin, tuna and elasmobranchs. I have a particular focus on optimising recreational and commercial fishing practices to maximise sustainability of species and maintain resilient systems.
